Who I Am

I’m Scott McCracken, a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in neurodiversity (Autism and ADHD), PTSD, trauma, anxiety, and men’s mental health.  I work with adults seeking clarity, stability, and a deeper understanding of themselves especially those who have spent years pushing through, masking, or carrying more than anyone realized.

My focus is helping you understand your experiences and build a life that feels grounded, meaningful, and manageable.

My style is warm, direct, and practical. I focus on real‑world tools and clear guidance that actually support change. Therapy with me is structured and supportive providing a safe place where you can slow down, breathe, and make sense of what’s happening in your life without pressure, judgment, or expectations.

Why I Do This Work

I’ve spent over 10 years working with adults who have felt misunderstood, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves. Many of my clients grew up masking, pushing through, or carrying responsibilities that left little room for their own needs.

I became a therapist because I believe people deserve a space where they can be fully seen — not as a diagnosis, not as a problem to fix, but as a whole human being with strengths, complexity, and potential.

Therapy isn’t about “fixing” you. It’s about understanding your nervous system, your patterns, and your needs so you can move through the world with more clarity and less friction.

How I Work

My work integrates evidence‑based approaches with a calm, grounded presence. I use:

  • Neurodiversity‑affirming therapies

  • CBT and DBT

  • Mindfulness‑based approaches

  • Breathwork and guided meditation

  • Trauma‑informed care

  • Solution‑focused therapy

I tailor each session to your pace, your goals, and your lived experience. You’ll get practical tools, clear guidance, and a supportive space where you can slow down, breathe, and be genuinely heard

Supporting Neurodiverse Adults

I specialize in working with adults with ADHD and Autism, including those diagnosed later in life or exploring their identity for the first time. My work focuses on:

  • Reducing overwhelm

  • Understanding sensory and emotional patterns

  • Improving executive functioning

  • Navigating burnout

  • Building sustainable routines

  • Strengthening communication and relationships

You don’t have to mask or “hold it together” in therapy. You get to show up exactly as you are.

Trauma, Anxiety, and Emotional Regulation

Many of my clients come to therapy carrying years of stress, trauma, or emotional exhaustion. I help clients:

  • Understand their nervous system

  • Break out of survival mode

  • Build emotional regulation skills

  • Heal from past experiences

  • Develop healthier patterns and boundaries

You don’t have to keep pushing through alone.

Working With First Responders

I am honored to support firefighters, law enforcement, EMTs, dispatchers, and other frontline professionals. I understand the unique stressors, trauma exposure, and cultural expectations that shape these roles.

My approach is grounded in:

  • Respect

  • Confidentiality

  • Cultural competence

  • Practical tools for high‑stress environments

Under the Arizona Craig Tiger Act, eligible first responders may receive covered mental health services.
